One of the first age identifying “looks” when you walk into a room, are seen on the street or shop in a boutique is your clothing…wearing pajamas to the supermarket is a dead give away.
It’s like the clock strikes “sixty” and you become invisible in your flats, baggy shirts and sweat pants. We fall into what society expects of us. Step back and take a good look and ask yourself: Am I becoming the senior stereotype we see and read about? if so, you need to tweak that image and become more visible and not blend into that grouping by simply thinking and carrying yourself ten years younger.
Copy that look. Shop in those stores. Cut and color your hair with that age group in mind. When you do just that you will become that ten-year-younger-stereoptype by default and you will love it!
Reading Counter Clockwise: A Proven Way To Think Yourself Younger And Healthier by Ellen Langer can show you through her studies how we become our age unless we identify what we need to change. Once you understand the aging process…you will want to make these changes. (See: BOOKS)
Don’t let society tell you what to do!
